Goa’s gentler side, discovered slowly and lived a little fuller, a handful of places we love just beyond our doorstep.
Beyond the beach, the south unfolds at its own pace. Spice farms and waterfalls inland, dolphins offshore, rivers to paddle and nesting turtles at dusk. Whatever calls to you, we’ll happily help arrange it.

Patnem & Palolem
Boat Trips
We are lucky that dolphins are frequent visitors to our beaches. While it is not always easy to spot them from the shore, you can take a boat tour or rent a kayak for a closer, more exciting view. A boat trip to Butterfly and Honeymoon beaches, or up the Talpona river, can be arranged from several spots on Patnem or Palolem beaches, we’ll be happy to set it up for you.

30 minutes inland
Just thirty minutes, or further, by car from Casa Jaali lie several beautiful waterfalls, perfect if you wish to cool down inland. The drive is gorgeous, with rice fields and terraces painting nature in green and yellow. The best season to visit is right after the monsoons, when the falls are in full force.

A day inland
Tanshikar Spice Farm & Bubble Lake
If you wish to spend a day away from the beach, the spice farm is a wonderful option. The local team gives a guided tour of the many plants, and you can enjoy a meal made from their organically grown produce. Just three minutes away lies Netravali Lake, the ‘Bubble Lake’, a pond that strangely responds to noise. Clap your hands and see.

Jaali River Sanctuary
Talpona River
The Talpona River winds through one of South Goa’s most peaceful, unspoiled landscapes, coconut groves, mangroves, farmland and villages, before meeting the Arabian Sea. The best way to experience it is by kayak, exploring its quiet waters at your own pace. We recommend starting from our property, Jaali River Sanctuary, and are happy to arrange rentals.

Turtle Beach
Galgibag Beach
Also called Turtle Beach, Galgibag is one of the lesser-known and cleanest beaches in India. Besides being beautiful, it is a designated turtle nesting site. During hatching season, a midnight visit rewards you with dozens of small turtles making their way to the water.

Old Goa
Goan Architecture
Old Goa’s churches and cathedrals, UNESCO-listed and centuries old, make for a rich day trip. We can arrange a car and guide to take you through the historic sites at your own pace.
PLAN YOUR DAYS
From kayak rentals to spice-farm lunches and dolphin boats, our team is happy to set up any of these experiences during your stay.
